Aptaclub: Facebook Competition
This spring Aptamil ran a competition on their Aptaclub Facebook page offering 5 new Mum's the chance to win one of my personalised baby blankets!
Making personalised blankets is how I began Marjorie Minnie, and it was so lovely to get back on the knitting machine to make these special prizes for the lucky little winners who were chosen.
As my blankets are reversible, the winners had the choice of design for both sides and option of colours for yarns and bindings, as well as personalising the blanket with their baby's name. We were overwhelmed by the response to the competition and the winners certainly kept me on my toes with their choices! I had spreadsheets and post it notes everywhere to ensure I designed and made all the wording and colour choices correctly.
Hand making these personalised blankets is time consuming, which is why I made the decision to begin working with manufacturers last year. As well as designing and knitting the fabric, I also make and hand stitch the bias binding for an invisible finish. Its a labour of love, and I no longer advertise them in my shop, although I'm always open to special requests and working with brands for one off projects like this competition.
